Christina Cho, Assoc. AIA, PE, LEED AP, currently is working as an architectural designer at Bohlin Cywinski Jackson in San Francisco nowadays, mainly designing Apple stores worldwide. She received her BS and MS in Civil Engineering and Design-Construction Integration from Stanford University. She received her Masters in Architecture from the Harvard Gradate School of Design and has worked in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Seoul, and Shanghai. She has also been an invited critic at the California College of Arts, Parsons, and Stanford University. Prior to her architectural pursuits, she worked as a structural engineer at Arup in San Francisco for 5 years on various projects ranging from LEED Platinum museums like Renzo Piano’s California Academy of Sciences to labs, hospitals, community centers, parks, and pedestrian bridges like the Iron Horse Overcrossing in the Bay Area. Specializing in high-performance design in earthquake zones and sustainable design, she spent many years working on the California Academy, which required intense multidisciplinary collaboration amongst many different designers, consultants, and engineers, museum curators, scientists, culinary specialists, etc. While at SHoP Architects, she also worked on a corporate headquarters design for a well-known tech company based in Silicon Valley who mandated the ultimate in innovative and sustainable building. She hopes to continue to work on such exciting projects, both large and small, which push the envelope of design and technology all the while creating beautiful, fun, educational, and creative environments in which people can learn, engage, and enjoy.
